Day
1 -- Yoho National Park
Meet mid-day in Calgary and head a
few
hours west over the Continental Divide
to
British Columbia, perhaps stopping
along the
way for a stroll around sparkling
Lake
Louise. Continue on to charming Emerald
Lake Lodge, where meandering walking
paths lead to each room. After getting
acquainted with the other guests during
a special trip
orientation, enjoy dinner in the lodge's
rustically elegant dining room.

Day
2 -- Yoho National Park
Today's schedule will be determined
by
abilities, the weather, and the whims
of the
group. Possibilities include hiking
directly
from Emerald Lake Lodge, or hopping
in the
vans for a short drive to other trails
in
Yoho. Upon returning to the lodge, soak
in
the hot tub or rent a canoe to paddle
the
lake. This evening, venture into Lake
Louise
for dinner at one of the area's renowned
restaurants.

Day
3 -- Yoho National Park
Arise early today for a full-day hike
to
the pristine Lake O'Hara region near
Lake
Louise. This limited-access area is
delightfully free of tourist crowds,
and
provides some of the most spectacular
views in this mountain range. Enjoy
a picnic lunch at a picturesque viewpoint
before returning to the trailhead.
Dinner this evening is back at the
lodge.

4-6 |
Days
4-6 -- Purcell Mountain Range
A short drive through the Kicking
Horse
valley ends at the helicopter launch
pad near Parson. From here, take a
spectacular
helicopter ride to Bobbie Burns Lodge.
Set at 5000' elevation, this remote
mountain lodge is a gracious base
for two and a half days of heli-hiking.
After lunch and orientation at the
lodge, an afternoon hike gives a taste
of the mountain country that awaits
further exploration! Each day, helicopters
fly to new country otherwise unreachable
from the lodge. Hiking groups, based
on ability and interest level, are
led by the lodge's extraordinary guides.

Day
7 -- Canmore
Come out of the backcountry today and
spend the afternoon exploring Radium
Hot
Springs and Kootenay National Park on
the way to Banff townsite. Time permitting,
visit the famed Whyte Museum with its
extensive
exhibits cultural and natural history
of the
region. Enjoy this evening's farewell
dinner
and cozy rooms at a charming lodge on
the
edge of town.
