Day 1 --Springdale
Fly to St. George, Utah, arriving by late
afternoon. Convene at the airport, and drive
to Springdale, Utah, the gateway to Zion
National Park. After settling into
comfortable accommodations along the Virgin
river and near the Park entrance, join your
guide for a brief welcome orientation and
review the great hiking options that await.
Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Accommodations: Flanigan's Inn

Day 2 Day 2 -- Springdale
Rise early to greet the day and head into
Zion's lush canyons. Spend the full day
hiking through narrow red rock canyons and
along refreshing streams, with a picnic lunch
out in the field. Later this afternoon, stop
by the Visitor Center and enjoy time to relax
before dinner. Tonight, enjoy a festive meal
at a local southwestern restaurant.

Flanigan's Inn
Day 3 Day 3 -- Escalante
From Springdale, head to Bryce Canyon
National Park, just a short drive away. Day
hike through this mystical canyon, with its
colorful 'hoodoos' and striking rock
formations. The exotic landscape here is a
striking contrast to the other canyons
visited on this trip. Afterwards, continue to
Escalante, an historic town of less than
1,000, for an overnight stay and exploration
of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National
Monument. Accommodations here are at the
modest Prospector Inn in town. Tonight, enjoy
a casual dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4 Days 4 -- Boulder
Today, spend the full day hiking in Grand
Staircase-Escalante country through back
country slot canyons and among colorful
sandstone pedestals. Walk along sun-dappled
streams at the base of 1,000 foot cliffs,
where hanging gardens of ferns and flowers
drip from the rocks, and astonishing natural
bridges connect the trails. This afternoon,
continue over the mountains to Boulder, and
the very southern end of Capitol Reef. By
day's end, settle into Boulder Mountain
Lodge, a distinctive oasis, offering
comfortable accommodations and great food.

Day 5 Day 5 -- Boulder
Today marks the first of several days of
first class hiking in Capitol Reef National
Park with a favorite trail through the Upper
Muley Twist Canyon. Walking along the spine
of a high ridge offers awesome views of the
spectacular Waterpocket Fold, a 100-mile
curving spine of twisted rock and shadows.
Tonight, relax after a hard but fun day's
activity and enjoy another delectable dinner
at the Lodge.

Day 6 Day 6 -- Torrey
TorreyAfter a hearty breakfast, head into
northern Capitol Reef National Park. Today's
hike descends into a winding red rock canyon,
crossing the warm waters of Sulphur Creek
several times on this downhill trail. At the
end of this one-way trek, have time to visit
the Park Visitor Center. This evening, settle
into the unique and elegant Lodge at Red
River Ranch, home for the last two nights of
the trip. Built in the style of the grand log
lodges found in our great National Parks, the
Lodge at Red River is nestled in an oasis of
cottonwoods along the banks of the Fremont
River, nestled against beautiful red rock
cliffs. Toni...

Day 7 Day 7 -- Torrey
Today, explore the high plateaus of the
Park along a series of three connecting back
country trails. This full day hike heads up
to the top of the Frying Pan Plateau, where
the trails become slick rock. The stunning
Cassidy Arch marks the point where the trail
drops dramatically on easy switch backs into
Grand Wash. A leisurely walk through Grand
Wash ends this lovely day. Tonight, celebrate
a wonderful trip with a farewell dinner at a
local southwestern restaurant.
