1 -- Jackson
Arrive in Jackson and stroll the
downtown
square filled with shops, galleries
and
museums. Accommodations are at a charming
Scandinavian-style inn, walking distance
from the town square. Enjoy a short
orientation with your guides at the
inn before dining at one of Jackson's
fabulous restaurants.

Day
2 -- Jackson
Enjoy a morning hike to a scenic
lake in
the Bridger-Teton National Forest. While
hiking through stands of quaking aspen
and
open meadows, your guide will acquaint
you
with the wildflowers, birds, and geology
of
this area, as well as some of its distinctive
local history. After a lakeside lunch,
return
by mid-afternoon to relax at the inn
before
dining at Dornan's in Grand Teton National
Park, where sunset views of the Teton
peaks
enhance our delicious meal.

Day
3 -- Yellowstone National Park
This morning we drive into Idaho
to enter
Yellowstone National Park through
its remote southwestern 'back door.'
After sharing a picnic lunch and trek
orientation with our llama guides,
we start down the trail for our anticipated
four day/three night trek into Yellowstone's
backcountry. Hike along the gentle
Bechler River trail through lodgepole
forests and open meadows, keeping
an eye out for moose, black bears,
and a panoply of waterfowl and wading
birds, including sandhill cranes.
In the background, the Grand Tetons
and 200-foot high Ouzel Falls frame
our view.

Day
4 -- Yellowstone National Park
Wake up to a hearty breakfast,
then
venture further up the Bechler River
canyon,
leaving the llama team behind to watch
over
camp. Here we see why this region
is often
called 'Cascade Canyon' as we encounter
one impressive waterfall after another.
Enjoy
hiking all the way to the colorful
hot pools
at Three River Junction, or turn back
earlier
to relax or fish at camp this afternoon.
Dinner, prepared and served by your
guides,
features healthy camp cuisine, enhanced
by
fresh fruits and vegetables, tasty
baked
goods and homemade desserts.

Day
5 -- Yellowstone National Park
Break camp today for new trails
and vistas
and a remote natural hot springs. Our
final
full day on the trail features more
of the
impressive natural features that make
this
region so unique;waterfalls, thermal
hot
pools, wildlife-rich meadows and clear
freshwater streams. Spend a final night
in
your personal tent, sleeping comfortably
with top-of-the-line sleeping bags and
thick
pads.

Day
6 -- Jackson
Today we pack up camp for an enjoyable
hike to the trailhead where we bid sad
farewells to our new four-legged friends.
Returning to Jackson, luxuriate in a
hot
shower back at our charming inn, and
toast
our days on the trail at one of our
favorite
Jackson restaurants.
