MyOAN! Filtered & Non-Filtered Access

Deciding on which MyOAN! service to sign up for can be a little confusing. We decided to offer both filtered and non-filtered access to our clients due to the fact that many of customers are families. The differences between the two are virtual the same. Simply stated:

Filtered Access Blocks:

Anarchy - Sites containing information regarding militias, weapons,
anti-government groups, terrorism, overthrowing of the government, killing
methods, etc.

Chat - Sites accessed via the http protocol. Note that non-web based chat
clients (IRC, etc.) can still be used.

Criminal Skills - Sites that promote illegal activity, such as pyrotechnics, computer hacking, credit card number generating, password cracking, surveillance and murder.

Cults/Gothic - Sites promoting cult or gothic subject matter, use of mind control, paranoia, fear, and any other type of psychological control or manipulation.

Drugs - Sites that promote the use or purchase of illegal drugs.

Gambling - Sites which encourage gambling such as betting sites, bookmaker odds, lottery, bingo, horse/dog track, online sport betting, online casinos, etc.

Hate & Discrimination - Sites that contain material related to the
discrimination of groups of people based on race, religion, gender,
nationality, etc.

Obscene/Tasteless - Sites that involve such things as, murder, bodily functions, horror, death, violence, etc.

Pornography - Sites that contain harmful or offensive material such as sexually explicit scenes and vulgarity.

Please be advised that the above mentioned content is greatly minimized but will not prevent access to the above content from anyone's determined efforts to gain access to filtered content or a web site from coding their site to bypass even the best filtering systems.
