Jot It Down

Some hunters are content to simply spend a day in the big hardwoods, while others hope to bring home a longbeard. Unfortunately, methods that produced during the spring may be worthless in the fall. Successful methods vary between the two seasons.

Recording your efforts while afield will provide valuable reference. Since few hunters remember the methods and calls that produced at different times, a written account of each day’s hunt can save you many unproductive hours.

Keeping a journal will help you separate methods that worked from those that didn’t. In addition, the journal will help you recall more of the fun times you shared with your hunting buddies.

Plan to keep a journal. You’ll find it contributes much to your sport.
