A
large tree trunk affords a good backrest, breaks the hunter's outline, provides
a commanding view when sitting upright and is recommended for safety (especially
if its wider than your shoulders and higher than your head). It also lets the
hunter move his gun when the turkey's head is behind another object, and if the
bird circles, he can pivot around the tree's base.
Small
brush tops or netting may be added in front of the hunter to provide additional
concealment, but don't get too well hidden.
To
be successful in turkey hunting, never cramp your efforts by too much blind, and
keep your gun in position for instant action. Your wait will be made more comfortable
by incorporating a turkey hunter's chair, like the Lo-Boy Lite. The Lo-Boy Lite
is a low, light-weight, angular four-legged stool that allows you to sit comfortably
for hours.
